We started from a simple frustration. Plenty of businesses, charities and individuals do genuinely impressive things, and almost none of it gets acknowledged beyond the people directly involved. Meanwhile, organisations who could help each other operate a mile apart without ever making contact.

So we built something to fix both problems at once. Our awards create the occasion. Our publishing makes sure the stories outlive the evening. Our events keep people in contact through the year, and our workshops and business support help turn that attention into something practical.

Each part works on its own. Together, they do considerably more.

Where we’re heading

A model has to be proved somewhere before it can travel, so we started with a single awards programme and a single title and set about getting them right. The ambition is national: bringing the same approach to communities wherever it is wanted — at a pace that protects the quality of what we deliver.

We are open to national projects and partnerships alongside the local programmes we run.
